Eastern Aleutian Tribes

Eastern Aleutian Tribes (EAT) is a dynamic, Tribally-owned Health Organization (THO). EAT was formed in 1991 by six Aleut Tribes from the Aleutian Chain/Alaska Peninsula to improve health care. Eastern Aleutian Tribes includes: Akutan Traditional Council (Akutan), False Pass Tribal Council (False Pass), Agdaagux Tribal Council (King Cove), Nelson Lagoon Tribal Council (Nelson Lagoon), Qagan Tayagungin Tribal Council (Sand Point), and Unga Tribal Council (Unga in Sand Point). Then, later on the Pauloff Harbor Tribal Council (Sanak in Sand Point) joined the original six tribes. In 1999, EAT expanded its health care service to include the communities of Adak, Cold Bay, and Whittier.

EAT’s service area comprises over 100,000 square miles of the most beautiful, remote, and challenging locations in the world.
