About Save A Lot
Save A Lot was founded in 1977 by Bill Moran as an alternative to larger supermarkets. He opened the first Save A Lot store in Cahokia, Illinois, and remained with the company until his retirement in 2006. Moran oversaw the expansion of his company from the one Cahokia store to more than 1,000 locations across the country.

Over the years, Save A Lot has stayed true to offering the lowest prices on the grocery items customers need most. Save A Lot makes it easier for customers to get in and out of stores quicker than large supermarkets, saving both time and money.

Save A Lot is one of the nation’s leading extreme value, carefully selected assortment grocers. From Maine to California, our 1,200+ neighborhood stores serve more than 4 million shoppers each week.

We deliver our customers up to 40% savings, compared to conventional grocery stores, on exclusive Save A Lot brands and national brands, plus USDA-inspected beef, pork and poultry, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and common household items.

Our mission is to help our customers live richer, fuller lives by saving them money and time through the great food, great prices and great people in our stores, every day.
Urban League of St. Louis
As a neighborhood grocer, we’re proud to be invested in the communities we serve every day. Last week, we were honored to support Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, continuing to build on a relationship begun by one of our local independent retail partners, Jerry Love. Nearly 100 Save A Lot team members volunteered more than 200 hours throughout the week to ensure the Urban League had the support it needed to pull off their final Drive Thru food distribution event. We are humbled to have a team committed to making a difference!
