Company ranks 80th out of 300 companies ‘most liked by new workforce entrants'
Medline has been named among Forbes 2022 “America’s Best Employers for New Grads,” ranking 80th on a list of 300 U.S. companies, “most liked by new workforce entrants.” The list was compiled based on survey results of 20,000 Americans with less than 10 years professional experience, working for business with at least 1,000 employees.
“The list offers a glimpse of what newly minted graduates are prioritizing amid what’s been a historically hot job marketing,” according to Forbes. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement, effectiveness of diversity and inclusion efforts, and company image. The final list ranks the 300 employers that received the most recommendations.
“We’re honored to be represented on this influential list,” said Karen Ferraro, Medline chief human resource officer. “We’re a fast-growing, customer-focused company. Employees gain hands-on experience, allowing them to grow their careers and reach their full potential. An important part of our success is the emphasis we place on recruiting smart, hardworking and resilient employees from campuses across the nation.”
Medline is a healthcare manufacturer, distributor and solutions partner, and the choice of 70% percent of U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll Hospitals.
The company offers early career leadership programs in finance, operations management, engineering, product management (marketing, sourcing and sales) and supply chain. Medline also offers a general Rotational Assignment Program providing recent graduates with a wide range of experiences in different areas of the company to discover not only what it takes to be an industry leader, but more specifically, what role best aligns with their skills and interests.
The early career program is supported by a successful 10-week summer internship program. Since 2013, the program has continued to grow alongside the business, now boasting participation from over 30 different divisions in more than seven different functions. Focused on hiring the best talent from different backgrounds, Medline partners with various diversity-focused organizations for career fairs, events, information sessions and professional development workshops.
Medline is routinely named to best employer lists. Most recently, Medline was included on the Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers for 2022. Medline also was named to LinkedIn’s 2021 Top Chicago Companies list and the Chicago Tribune’s 2021 Top Workplaces.

Every day, we’re focused on building a more diverse and inclusive company, one that recognizes, values and respects the differences we all bring to the workplace. Across Medline, we’re working together to make sure every voice is heard and everyone belongs.
Quote from Karen Ferraro, CHRO “We are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone thrives.”
With the goal of creating opportunities for connection, development and advancement and celebrating diversity throughout our organization, we offer employees the opportunity to join a variety of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These ERGs engage people at every level to develop their potential, build relationships, and provide a sense of belonging. In addition, employees can be involved in cultural, educational, and outreach activities that support their professional development. Currently, Medline has five ERGs including:
· Black Employee Network
· Women ERG
· Hispanic and LatinX ERG

· Asian Pacific American ERG
Moreover, our commitment to inclusion and equity extends to the communities where we live and work. That’s why we seek partnerships with local and national community and government organizations working together to support the much-needed programs that address the growing inequities of health and education, across the US.
