About The Behavioral Health Center for Counseling & Learning, LLC
The Behavioral Health Center for Counseling & Learning's primary goal is to provide the highest quality of
care for children, adolescents and adults. This includes the identification, remediation and treatment of
difficulties that interfere with an individual, couple, family or organization's ability to grow, develop and
achieve success. We believe that information fosters empowerment and that compassion enhances
confidence, to address the issues that act as barriers to positive development and the attainment of
personal growth. Our goals also include helping our clients to become the strongest advocates possible
for themselves and their family or organizational members. The Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is
committed to reaching these goals by helping clients become well informed about relevant issues,
engaging them in a therapeutic process of change, and developing a learning process geared toward
achievement.

Walk-and-Talk Therapy ™
An innovative approach that we use with many of our clients is Walk-And-Talk Therapy™. Cognizant of the physical, mental and emotional benefits induced through physical activity, we knew that incorporating it into a clients' wellness program could prove to be integral. But for many, time constraints and other barriers made even the most well-intentioned client remain sedentary. So we began to suggest (weather permitting) they try incorporating walking into their therapy sessions. The results are astounding as clients remark how quickly they experienced therapy breakthroughs, and discovered how much they enjoyed moving. Exercise increases the production of feel-good hormones, as does being outside in nature. Walk-and-Talk Therapy™ can be especially effective for clients who struggle with sitting still, or with sharing personal thoughts while sitting in front of someone. A new, added benefit to Walk-and-Talk is that sessions take place outdoors, which current COVID-19 recommendations encourage for any social interactions.

Parent Education
Provide information to better inform participants about specific mental health and behavioral disorders (i.e. ADHD, ODD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, depression, anxiety, etc..), formal learning problems (i.e. reading, math, writing, learning disorders, etc..) and personal interaction patterns that create barriers to successful development and functioning.

Agency and Organizational Consultation
Services to assist the responsible clinician or manager in developing a strategic plan for addressing their needs regarding client specific, staff specific and/or larger system issues.

Divorce Mediation
Assisting couples through the divorce process and to help minimize the overwhelming emotions and distress often accompanying the divorce process. The development of a co-parenting plan is a central component of this service.

Telehealth Services
Telehealth services use online, interactive videoconferencing software to provide mental health services from a distance. This allows you the ability to participate in treatment from your own home or other environment when physical needs/disabilities, inclement weather and other obstacles prevent you from being able to come into the office.
