About IGS Industries Inc.
Founded in 1961 as Industrial Gasket and Shim, our company started making shims and gaskets for companies in the Pittsburgh area. Since then, we have been growing and developing our capabilities, and as a result, today we have drastically expanded our offerings beyond gaskets and shims.
We have grown from three employees (in 1961) to over 160 in 2022. Our client base has grown from Western Pennsylvania into a global enterprise and in 2012, we changed our name from Industrial Gasket and Shim to IGS Industries Inc., to reflect our expanding capabilities and world-wide reach. We have always been a family-owned company, and in 2012, we grew our definition of “family” by becoming an employee-owned company (ESOP).
IGS Industries is a custom part & sealant manufacturing company with 160,000 sq. feet of manufacturing capability. Our services include laser cutting, water jet cutting, tool and die design, custom metal work, gaskets, shims, stamping, metallic & non-metallic machined parts, and high temp sealants. With our metal parts, we stock a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, laminated metals & many more.
We specialize in parts from .001" thick to 1" thick and also have the ability to form, bend, weld, and powder coat. Our non-metallic stock consists of numerous materials from brand name gasket materials to plastic (all grades), rubber (all grades), Graphite, cork, sponge, felt, belting, fish paper, themosets, and many more.
We have the ability to ship from 1 part to large blanket orders and have expedited services available. We are an ISO 9001:2015 certified company with a national customer base that includes industries in Gas & Oil, Mining, Steel, Compression, Power Generation, Turbines, Military, Aerospace, Heavy & Light Manufacturing, Curtainwall/Facade, Construction, Machine Shops and many more.
