Working within our decentralized environment, branch personnel take a flexible approach to support local customers – sourcing products, making emergency deliveries, managing a lean flow of inventory to points of use, and leveraging our services, solutions and specialists to drive continual business improvements.
Opportunities in Distribution/Warehouse OperationsWe cannot successfully service our customers without dedicated warehouse workers behind the scenes facilitating the movement of product throughout our distribution facilities. Inbound positions include Receiving, Inventory and Quality Control, and Packaging and Product Handling, whereas outbound positions include Picking, Shipping, and Sortation. Most are part-time, offering a wide variety of work shifts with flexible start and end times.

Opportunities in Driving/TransportationFastenal Drivers haul freight regionally from our Distribution Centers to branch locations. We operate a well maintained fleet of Freightliner and Kenworth tractors and straight trucks that are no more than four years old. Deliveries are made to Fastenal branches primarily during overnight hours to allow us to have as many branches freight delivered as possible before opening at 7am. This means that the majority of driving is done at night with most routes scheduled departure time being 10-11pm. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded by warehouse employees prior to the route departure. Drivers will unload the freight at each ranch along their route; most routes average 10-12 stops. All routes are pre-planned affording our Drivers the opportunity to know their schedule weeks in advance!
Opportunities in Manufacturing/MachiningWith Fastenal’s nine global manufacturing locations, We Make the Unavailable Part Available! Our entry-level and skilled machinists produce fully machined, hot forged, and cold forged parts to provide solutions for our customers’ unique needs. Machinist positions operate all shifts, including a 36 hour full-time shift over the weekend! We also have a stringent quality management system anchored by our engineering teams, testing laboratories and quality assurance teams.

Those efforts are centered from our company headquarters in Winona, MN, home to approximately 1,200 team members in various departments. Our Information Technology, Accounting & Finance, Training, Human Resources, Marketing, eCommerce, Product Development, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality & Engineering, Operations, Logistics, and more specialists work to empower the industry's best-trained, best-equipped workforce. While teams are spread across a few buildings throughout Winona, our newest office location will be along the Mississippi River and will be completed in 2021, with space to grow with 400-600 more people!
