Octapharma AG is the largest privately owned human protein products manufacturer in the world. Founded in 1983 by Wolfgang Marguerre, Octapharma employs more than 5,500 people globally. Octapharma is owned by Wolfgang Marguerre and his three children, two of whom, Frederic Marguerre and Tobias Marguerre, sit on the management board. Octapharma's core business is the development and production of human proteins from human blood plasma and human cell-lines.
