Western Refining

Western Refining Company was founded in 1997 in El Paso, Texas to manage two oil refineries. The company increased its capacity with the acquisition of Giant Industries in 2006 and again by acquiring Northern Tier Energy in 2013. Today, Western Refining owns and operates two refineries, one in El Paso, TX and one in Gallup, NM. The company produces and markets such products as gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel fuel. Western Refining also owns and operates more than 260 convenience stores and gas stations under the brand names Howdy's, Sundial, Mustang, and Giant. The company's Logistics business owns more than 685 miles of pipeline and has an active storage capacity of 8.2 million barrels. Western Refining also has a Wholesale business that produces more than 1,800 miles of asphalt binder annually and supplies gasoline, jet fuel, and lubricants throughout the southwest.
