Retirement Plans: MSK provides a Retirement Savings Plan that offers a variety of investment options to help employees save for the future. Employees are eligible for a base contribution from MSK and, in addition, MSK will match voluntary employee contributions up to a set limit.

Holidays and Vacations: In addition to 12 paid holidays every year, employees are eligible for vacation time based on their job classification and length of service.

Sick Time: Sick time allows employees to receive their regular salary for a period of time if an illness or injury prevents them from working.

Health Support: MSK employees and their eligible family members can take advantage of MSK Direct, which provides simplified access to the extraordinary cancer care provided by MSK. We also offer cancer screening services at no out-of-pocket cost to you and your dependents when covered by an MSK health insurance plan.

Tuition Reimbursement: The Tuition Reimbursement Program provides financial assistance to help employees further their education, enhance their skills and knowledge, and improve their ability to face future challenges at MSK. The program offers reimbursement to eligible employees for certificates, undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, laboratory fees, registration fees, and professional license exam fees up to $12,500 per calendar year for full-time employees, and up to $6,250 per year for part-time employees working at least 18.75 hours per week.

Commuter Spending Account Program: This program provides a tax-advantaged way for employees to pay for their eligible transportation and parking expenses related to their commute to and from work.

Employee Wellness Program: Designed to educate, empower and support employee wellbeing through evidence-based content and resources relating to exercise, nutrition, resilience, and tobacco cessation:
Guided Wellbeing Platform: A web-based portal with wellness resources tailored to you. It includes on-demand content created to support employees with their wellness goals.

Mental and emotional health support: Free confidential short-term counseling and coaching services are available to help support you and your loved ones. Access to self-paced, on-demand tools and resources are also available.

Veteran Employee Resource Group

The Veterans Engaged Toward Employee Resources and Networking (VETERaN) group supports and creates initiatives that positively impact military veterans at MSK. This includes supporting the hiring of new veterans and capitalizing on their expertise and talents when they join MSK. The group also expands career development opportunities and ensures accessibility to different programs. VETERaN also works to further MSK’s strategic goals of recruiting and retaining top talent, increasing patient access, enhancing patient quality and experience, promoting new knowledge and innovation, and maintaining financial sustainability.

We Listen to Employees

To get a sense of our employees' thoughts about working at MSK, we periodically conduct an Employee Engagement Survey. The survey is designed to reveal the positive aspects of working at the Center, as well as areas that need improvement. Action plans are developed and implemented based on the areas that our employees identify as needing improvement.

Communication

News about recent and upcoming activities at the Center and information about new services and benefits that affect all employees are reported daily on our Intranet site and through MSKLife, a quarterly newsletter for staff.

Staff Appreciation Events

Every summer, employees are honored during Staff Appreciation Week, an event that includes a weekday picnic, a dinner for night staff, and a health fair. Throughout the year, various departments recognize employees who excel in their areas of expertise, and those who celebrate milestone anniversaries (in increments of five years) are honored at special events.

Service Awards Program

MSK recognizes long-term service by acknowledging employees who have completed five-year milestones, up to 25 years. Employees receive anniversary pins upon completion of each milestone. People with 30 or more years of service receive a special gift and recognition at the Annual 20 Year Club Dinner. Each department also hosts its own annual celebration to acknowledge people who reach anniversary milestones.
