About Us
About Us
Since 1958, Sequoia Living has created enriching environments where residents are empowered to build their best lives. Our communities are much more than places to live—they are places where residents learn, grow, and live life to the fullest.
Building on a Legacy of Experience
Sequoia Living owns and operates three continuing care retirement communities in Northern California: The Sequoias San Francisco, The Sequoias Portola Valley, and The Tamalpais in Marin County. We also manage three affordable housing communities in the Bay Area: Eastern Park Apartments and Western Park Apartments in San Francisco, Town Park Towers in San Jose; and The Woods, a manufactured housing community in Mendocino County for people 55 . Our newest community, Viamonte at Walnut Creek, is a new paradigm in senior living scheduled to break ground in Summer 2018 and open to new residents in 2020.
As a nonprofit organization, Sequoia Living reinvests our financial returns in ways that support our mission and enrich the lives of the people we serve. Through our Community Services programs, thousands of older adults receive services from two senior centers, healthcare education and referrals, and social services in low-income housing.
Our Core Values
Excellence - Everything we do is of the highest quality
Integrity - Being honest, responsible, and ethical
Respect - Honoring each person as unique and special
Service - Meeting needs and exceeding customer expectations
Stewardship - Using our resources wisely and well
Teamwork - Accomplishing our goals together
Our Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity
We joyfully recognize that as human beings we are fundamentally alike in our needs and feelings, and at the same time we all reflect a rich tapestry of differences. As a diverse people we have gifts to share. When we provide the opportunities and encouragement people need to share their gifts, we create a better world for everyone. Affirming this diversity means that we actively include all persons and value their variations.

Today, we’re using the lessons we learn to redefine aging, whether it’s through our bold new retirement community, Viamonte at Walnut Creek, or the healthy aging programs in both our continuing care retirement and affordable housing communities.
We also care about seniors in the greater Bay Area and love to give back. Our nonprofit foundation, Senior Services for Northern California, provides funding for culturally sensitive community service programs like the San Francisco Senior Center and AARP Experience Corps® Marin that enhance the health and well-being of older adults throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
