Culture
Culture is defined by people. It's what they believe, how they act, what they work toward and how they treat each other. At ALSAC, we strive to live by our six Culture Pillars, the qualities that set the foundation for our success.

People First: Success comes from having a great staff that's valued, treats each other with respect and whose input and contributions are recognized.

Strategic: Success doesn't just happen. We plan, measure and analyze so we can achieve our goal: Saving children's lives.

Innovative: We create ways for you to share your ideas and turn those into initiatives to help the kids of St. Jude.

Collaborative: Our environment gives you the space to collaborate with other team members to turn good ideas into great ideas.

High Performing: Knowing we're helping kids fight cancer motivates us all to perform at our best and strive for excellence each and every day.
Benefits
ALSAC/St. Jude offers a comprehensive benefits package to meet the varied needs of our dedicated and highly motivated employees, including paternity leave for new dads in our workforce and family sick time to allow staff to take time from work to care for loved ones.

Health and Wellness: An on-campus wellness center is free for employees to use and includes a variety of health and fitness classes as well as equipment for individual use. There are mile-marked walking paths both indoors and outside, and bicycles and helmets are available for use throughout the 62-acre campus and to off-campus office destinations. During the local growing season – from spring through fall – employees can shop weekly at an on-campus farmers market.

Professional development: Attracting and keeping high-performing employees is key to ALSAC’s success, and employees are encouraged to pursue career and leadership development opportunities. ALSAC offers on-the-job learning experiences through courses and individual learning, as well as formal professional development options.

Employee recognition: ALSAC values the contributions of every employee and sets aside time to recognize work anniversaries and special efforts by our staff. Service award programs are held quarterly to celebrate employees reaching milestone anniversaries, and dinner is held for those employees reaching anniversaries of 15 years and beyond. The CEO regularly celebrates outstanding employee efforts with additional time off.

Work environment: ALSAC gives employees the option of dressing casual at work; when appropriate, business casual attire is the norm. Employees also can enjoy dining at St. Jude’s Kay Kafe as well as two Starbucks locations. Local food and restaurant vendors visit campus daily during the work week, offering specials from BBQ to vegetarian fare. In addition, the St. Jude Gift Shop offers an employee discount on purchases. Other amenities include on-campus auto detailing, dry cleaning pickup and drop-off, and book and gift fairs.

Community service: ALSAC leadership encourages service in the local community, whether at headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, or in any of our more than 30 regional offices across the country. During the last fiscal year, ALSAC employees volunteered nearly 22,000 hours in community service, helping 400 organizations in local communities around the U.S. A highlight of ALSAC’s National Training Meeting every year is the community service project, which has supported such programs as homeless shelters, veterans’ organizations and schools.
