About Us
NorthShore Health Centers is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality, affordable healthcare to everyone, including the uninsured and underinsured in Porter, Lake and La Porte Counties. NorthShore currently has nine locations providing medical, dental and eye care. Patients are seen on both a scheduled and walk-in basis. After-hours services are also available through Urgent Care at three office locations, the Portage, Lake Station, and Hammond Centers. Extended hours for services are offered at our Portage, Lake Station, Hammond, and Merrillville Centers. NorthShore has four dental offices located in Portage, Lake Station (Dr. Fernando Rivera Dental Center), Merrillville, and Hammond, which provide preventative as well as corrective dental care to the communities we serve.

NorthShore is always striving to improve our quality of care. Our facilities employ general practitioners, obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, optometrists, dentists, dental hygenists, pharmacists, nurses, prenatal care nurses, case managers and patient navigators. Behavioral Health Consultants including Substance Abuse Counselors work with our Primary Care Providers to ensure that emotional and behavioral issues are addressed as well as physical ones. We address your entire health and well-being. Service is provided regardless of ability to pay.
