WITCO, Inc

Incorporated in 1974, Witco was originally known as the Western Idaho Training Company, a mission driven nonprofit created to meet the needs of people with disabilities. Witco was the very first comprehensive community rehabilitation program in the Treasure Valley. The term comprehensive in this context refers to both the broad spectrum of disability groups served as well as the vast array of services offered.

During the company’s early years it played a major advocacy role in both the passage of federal law giving children with disabilities legal access to public education and the passage of the American with Disabilities Act granting legal rights to all people with disabilities. Witco continues to be recognized as a powerful vocal advocate representing citizens with disabilities on a local, state and federal level.
