About Armed Forces Services Corporation
Armed Forces Services Corporation’s legacy goes back to 1879 with the formation of a nonprofit organization established to care for surviving spouses from The Battle of Little Big Horn. In June 2000, AFSC was spun-off from the organization and was formed as a Virginia-registered C-Corporation, owned by a new Board of service-disabled veterans. AFSC brought with it our reputation for expert human services delivered by selfless people. We operate as a “double bottom-line” company- with both business and humanitarian goals. And when in conflict- every employee knows that our mission goals come before our business goals. Our “mission before business” culture allows us to attract a special breed of selfless staff- providing the government fast, hardworking people.
Today we provide management consulting and program delivery to many of the most vital government programs serving the military community. Our teams span from focused strategic planning engagements to very large programs focused on operational services such as adjudication support and broader case management functions. AFSC has deep experience in the full spectrum of quality-of-life programs serving the military life-cycle- including healthcare, resiliency, suicides, family strength, education, employment and financial/legal support. AFSC’s expertise has been recognized by several White Houses, Congress and throughout DoD and VA. AFSC also supports many of the nation’s largest military nonprofits- contributing thousands of hours of pro bono consulting back into to the nonprofit sector from which we sprang.
AFSC is headquartered in Arlington, VA. Our employees are spread across 40 States, and several countries. Our workforce is 1/3 veterans, 1/3 military families, and 1/3 civilians. In addition to our own staff, we manage a smaller team of a few hundred subcontractors. In today’s era of hyper-specialization, we often build teams including other expert partners.
AFSC’s mission is to enhance the lives of Warriors, Veterans and their Families through expertise, innovation and effort.
