In every hiring decision, we seek the same things. Of course, we demand candidates who meet the requirements and can perform the basic duties of the positions. But this is only part of our criteria. We also seek professionals who demonstrate the key behaviors and competencies we know are needed to achieve success – in their role and in our system.
BelongingAs Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” At University Hospitals, that passion to “do for others” is exhibited every day by our employees who put our patients first. By being the difference, our employees illustrate our core values and continuously achieve our vision statement, Advancing the Science of Health and the Art of Compassion.
Workplace diversity encompasses more than the ethnic differences between colleagues in an organization. It is a rich tapestry composed of race, gender, ethnicity, age, personality, tenure, organizational function, education, experience and background that enriches the experience of all members of an organization from top to bottom. At University Hospitals, we strongly believe that the diversity in our workplace should mirror the diversity in the communities we serve.
