Meet Michele - She is Director of Surgical Services, Obstetrical Services, GI, Dialysis, 2 SSU and Magnet at Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago. Michele has been working at Trinity for over four years. She was first inspired to take on her current role by her co-worker Dr. Jacquelyn Whitten. “When you collaborate with a leader as dynamic as her, you have no recourse but to follow her lead.” As a team member at Trinity, Michele likes that she is able to represent diversity. “It is important for me to represent the diversity that is inherently necessary for those we serve to feel supported, heard and included,” she says. “In my role, I have the opportunity to change lives, promote better outcomes for patients, grow and develop talent and inspire future leaders.”

Meet Dr. Greg Burek - a psychiatrist at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Burek is working on building the Veterans Retraining Program. It is a program designed by veterans for veterans focused on the common issues from military life. Dr. Burek says, “As a veteran myself, I feel that understanding this culture is essential to helping veterans achieve and maintain a healthy and fulfilling life.” The ultimate goal for Dr. Burek is to make Advocate Aurora the most veteran friendly healthcare system in the country.
