About WICAP
Since 1965, WICAP Community Collaborative has led with collaboration and compassion to help low-income
Idahoans improve their lives and the lives of others. Born from the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, the initial mission of Community Action Programs like ours was to alleviate poverty through growing local employment opportunities. Today, that mission has evolved into a comprehensive collaborative of programs that support children, adults, and families in communities across eight western Idaho counties.
Our programs, funded by federal grants and charitable contributions, include early childhood education, childcare, and mental health support for the entire family as well as those who educate them. Serving the broader community, we offer elderly citizen aid, emergency services, family development, health, nutritional, employment, and financial stability resources. Every WICAP program is adaptable to meet the unique needs of each individual and community, as well as the social, cultural, and economic circumstances that surround them. Through our individualized programs, we provide people and communities the opportunity to overcome obstacles and thrive.
