Buddy Bi-Rite, known today as Buddy’s Home Furnishings was founded in 1961 by Norman Slatton Sr. in Tampa, Florida. The company originally operated as a retail outlet for used appliances. Economic changes in the mid-eighties impacted the retail business and Norman quickly realized that many consumers could not obtain traditional financing or afford to make a large cash purchases. Buddy’s expanded its product line to include furniture, electronics and home accessories while offering a new program that allowed consumers to attain ownership of these goods through affordable payments without the constraints of traditional credit or financing.

Today, Buddy’s Home Furnishings headquartered in Orlando, Florida is the third largest rent-to-own company in the industry with more than 200+ corporately owned and franchised store locations operating throughout the United States and Guam.
