Nurture our Talent
Part of what makes Alaska Airlines special is our people, along with the small-company feel that welcomes collaboration and ignites opportunities to influence change and drive impact. Beyond perks in the skies, we ensure every employee has the opportunity to grow and develop, to own and build their career here, whether rising through the ranks, becoming experts in their field or transferring within the company.
Travel Perks and BenefitsEmpower Personal Adventures:
Creating an airline people love requires hard working employees who love what they do. All employees and their loved ones enjoy free and unlimited space-available travel on Alaska and Horizon and have access to stand-by travel on other airlines. Seeing the world is no longer just a dream—we’ll help to make it a reality for our employees and their families.
Drive Financial & Physical Wellness:
Our robust health and financial packages include paid time off, parental, family and medical leave and programs to support employees’ physical, emotional and financial well-being. We generously support 401k contributions, provide quarterly bonuses, holiday pay and employee stock purchase plans. We offer the only goal-based incentive pay plan in the industry, aligning all employees from the runway to the C-suite to specific financial and non-financial goals, including sustainability. We all share in the rewards when we win as one team.

We started out in 1932 connecting small towns across Alaska. Now 90 years later, we continue to connect small towns with large urban areas, because strengthening and investing in the communities we serve is part of our DNA. Outside of the office—and flight deck—we partner with nonprofits to organize volunteer opportunities and match employee donations for causes they care about.
Commit to Bettering the Earth:
Air travel is critical; it connects us to one another. However, the aviation industry has operated at the detriment to our environment. We have a bold roadmap to reduce carbon emissions to net-zero by 2040 in partnership with the industry and government. In the near term, we are steadfast in our goal to be the most fuel-efficient U.S. airline and cut the climate emissions from our ground equipment in half. Our investment arm, Alaska Star Ventures, advances emerging technologies to accelerate our progress toward net zero carbon emissions, so we can do good by the earth.
