About TOMS Shoes
We've always been in business to improve lives.
In 2006, TOMS pioneered the One for One model.
Since then, our community has had a positive impact on over 100,000,000 lives.
Today, we give 1/3 of our profits in support of grassroots efforts, including organizations that are helping communities thrive—creating change at the local level, and driving progress from the ground up.
That’s why our shoes are really something special — especially our classic Alpargata, which we like to think of as the shoe that started it all.
Because it doesn’t matter where you’re going when you’re in your TOMS. You can be sure it’s in the right direction.

The TOMS family is a diverse team, driven by the belief that we can use business to help improve lives.
The close-knit culture lets employees feel at home with one another, making for a supportive, collaborative and authentic atmosphere. We're avid advocates and lifelong learners, and our team is constantly able to better themselves during company hours, whether through zoom fitness classes (yoga, HIIT), Mandarin language classes, TOMS Talkers, career development and training, professionally guided meditation, or formal educational opportunities.
As you can imagine, we're big on giving back and host regular 'Happy Helping Hours' ranging from building garden boxes, to putting together wellness packs for our community's homeless population, summer fun totes for the elderly, and care packages for active military stationed overseas.
Every other month, we have our Tomorrows Project: an employee-led opportunity to support nonprofits that we, as individuals, care about. Our monthly Tomorrows Project recipients are awarded up to $10,000 for their causes, and up to 2 days of additional PTO to help set the project in motion!
Our mission always comes first. Whether in Retail, Product, IT, or Giving, every member of the team makes an impact. We're all here to use business to improve lives, and our Giving Partners are front and center. We frequently host speakers, events, and off-site opportunities to learn from the experts in driving impact. We're active in our communities and work with our Partners to stay engaged - both in our office and in our daily lives!

Corporate Responsibility
At TOMS®, we believe in Using Business to Improve Lives. Founded in 2006, we understand the imperative for our company to operate responsibly and know that you want to buy from a company that works hard to integrate sustainable and responsible practices into all that they do. Our efforts are focused on making sure that we operate in a manner that's consistent with our brand values.
We are a certified B Corporation, which means we uphold the highest standards in every aspect of our business for verifiable social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.
Corporate Responsibility at TOMS® provides focus on the environmental and social impacts of our products and operations, responsible giving and employee life. We know that our customers will look to us for our accomplishments, which currently include:
1. We offer shoes with sustainable and vegan materials, including natural hemp, organic cotton, recycled polyester, and more.
2. All of our shoe boxes are made from 80% recycled post-consumer waste and are printed with soy ink.
3. Our shoes are made in China, Ethiopia and Argentina. Our global staff actively manages and oversees our suppliers and vendors to ensure that our corporate responsibility standards are upheld. We clearly define appropriate business practices for our employees and hold them accountable for complying with our policies, including the prevention of slavery and human trafficking within our supply chain.
4. Our team works hard to integrate environmentally friendly practices into both the built environment and its day-to-day operation - in everything from our Retail experiences to Products to Team Initiatives.
5. Giving back to the community is an important part of any Corporate Responsibility program. At TOMS®, giving is our DNA and has been from the start! As perhaps the only company with a Chief Giving Officer, giving will always be core to our work as a responsible company.
At TOMS® we invest in our employees in many ways.
We provide training for our employees on a number of business and leadership topics, including training for our supply chain employees by a respected third party expert on the important topic of human trafficking and slavery prevention. We provide a variety of benefits to them, including:
- Medical, Vision, Dental
- Long Term Disability
- Life Insurance and AD&D
- Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
- Employee Assistance Program
- Paid Family Leave
- 401(k)
- Paid Time Off
- A variety of fitness and wellness classes at our headquarters
We Want To Help Other Companies Give Back
As our first alpargatas were being made in Argentina in 2006, our industry peers had already developed best practices and learned hard-fought lessons in responsible operations. Where possible, we'll collaborate with industry peers and independent experts to develop and share best practices and integrate them into our supply chain.
Currently, we are members of the AAFA (American Apparel and Footwear Association) and are active participants in their Environmental and Social Responsibility Committees. We are also members of Textile Exchange and are working with them to support our efforts to use more sustainable materials. You'll find TOMS® at sustainability conferences and industry gatherings, sharing best practices within the world of sustainable design and responsible operations.
As we reflect on what we've done, we know that there is always more to do! In the coming months, we'll broaden our understanding of our product and their impacts, explore additional sustainable materials and designs, and deepen our conversation with our supply chain partners. As we climb the mountain in front of us, we'll celebrate our success while eyeing that next peak in the distance.
