About Rakhma Homes
Unconditional Loving Care Since 1984
Rakhma Homes has compassionately cared for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory related dementias since 1984, making us the first residential model for memory care in Minnesota! Our rich history of loving care continues as a core value and is recognized as a best-practice in memory care today! We have memory care homes in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Golden Valley and Minnetonka. Rakhma serves approximately 45 residents and families annually, and our services have touched the hearts of hundreds throughout the years.
Our name, “Rakhma”, is an Aramaic word that translates to English as “mercy, benevolence and unconditional love." It describes our organizational ethos and our philosophy of care. Our ethos, our care partners and our intimate home settings permeate the organization and instill a sense of warmth, well-being, safety, and acceptance to all.
We practice a social-care model (as opposed to a medical-care model) which emphasizes person-centered care that respects and honors individual choices and each resident's unique life history. Our health services are provided in residential homes in urban and suburban neighborhood settings. This environment maximizes our ability to provide residents with a normal life experience with all the warmth and love of a real home rather than an institutional or medical setting.
