Why New York Life
At the heart of New York Life is a commitment to be there for our customers when
they need us—whether today or decades into the future. We have delivered on that promise for 175 years by investing wisely, growing a portfolio of strategic businesses, and remaining true to our mission as a mutual company, accountable only to our customers, not to outside investors.

People come to work at New York Life to contribute to the financial goals of millions
of families and businesses each day. We have a diverse, nationwide workforce that allows us to support the communities where we work. Our purpose-driven mindset has attracted people who want to do good and has resulted in great success for our company and our customers.
Corp. Responsibility
New York Life is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Inspired by our tradition of service and humanity, the New York Life Foundation was established over 40 years ago and has provided over $300 million in charitable contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations.

Employees and agents can participate in the Foundation’s programming through its Volunteers for Good program and Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative, which give them the opportunity to engage with their communities in impactful ways. Employees can take paid time off to volunteer, and September is our Month of Service, a time when employees and agents come together to participate in company-sponsored volunteer events in their communities.

New York Life annually holds a Giving Campaign, a period of time during which employees and agents donate and generate funds for the causes that are important to them by participating in fun and festive fundraisers.

The Foundation supports programs that benefit young people, particularly in the areas of educational enhancement and childhood bereavement. Employee and agent donations to organizations that support these two areas are matched by the Foundation.

Diversity & Inclusion
At New York Life, everyone is encouraged to feel comfortable bringing their full, authentic selves to work everyday. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, and we know that it’s our differences that help us do our best and most innovative work to achieve our mission of providing financial security and peace of mind to our policy owners. Diversity and inclusion are deeply embedded within our company’s culture, and we continue to examine new ways to emphasize this committment.

Our Office of Diversity and Inclusion embodies New York Life’s commitment to encouraging, creating, and maintaining a diverse and inclusive work environment through programming, educational resources, external partnerships, and more.

For several years, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion has hosted a Coming Together Conversation Series, encouraging respectful dialogue and promoting a safe workplace forum where employees can share their perspectives and feelings on challenging issues. Annually, employees participate in an educational challenge that inspires them to think about diversity and inclusion in new and different ways.

New York Life has seven employee resources groups which embody the strength and spirit of our culture, and help the company foster an environment in which differences and unique perspectives are encouraged and valued. These groups frequently work together, promoting intersectionality and allyship across the company.
