With a broken pottery kiln, a Brown University engineering degree and an entrepreneurial spirit, Harold Ipsen founded Ipsen in 1948 with a vision of creating products and technologies that push the boundaries of innovation in heat treating.

Today, Ipsen is a global company that designs and manufactures vacuum and atmosphere furnaces through our technology excellence centers in Cherry Valley, Illinois and Kleve, Germany. Our equipment is developed for aerospace, automotive, military & defense, energy, medical, tool & die, commercial heat treating and other industries. We have more than 10,000 operating systems installed in 70 countries. With sales and aftermarket support in 34 countries, Ipsen has the largest customer service team in the industry.
