Who is Western Union?
For 168 years and counting, Western Union has connected people around the world. Over the last decade, the world has changed faster than ever before – and we have changed with it. We provide fast, reliable, and convenient ways to move money across borders. Globally, 70% of WU.com transactions are initiated on a mobile device.
We are a globally minded, purpose driven company. Our employee base is just as global as our customers. Employees live and work in over 50 countries, speaking more than 37 different languages and dialects, and we pay our employees in 45 different currencies.
From our day-to-day work to becoming a leader in cross-border, cross-currency money movement, we are motivated by values: being purpose driven, globally-minded, trustworthy and respectful. This means speaking our customers’ languages, living in their neighborhoods, sharing their culture, and giving back to our global community. That’s what we refer to as the WU Way. On our team, you’ll be part of a global workforce but still get the direct support and resources you need to succeed and grow.
We take pride in being named a “Best Place to Work” in multiple locations around the world, and we couldn’t have done it without our people.
We’re growing! Interested? We’d love to hear from you.

The Western Union® services reach all corners of the globe, and so do our volunteering and charitable efforts. As a global company, it’s important to us that we give back to our communities, creating a lasting international impact. One of the ways Western Union does this is through its support of the Western Union Foundation, a separate §501(c)(3) United States charity. Learn more about the Foundation’s purpose:
Western Union Foundation

Education For Better
Education is one of the surest pathways to economic opportunity. Through collaborations with non-profits around the world, the Foundation has embarked on a mission to connect 50,000 migrants, refugees, women and young people to the global economy by 2020 through demand-driven skills training and workforce enablement programs. The Foundation also offers a global scholarship program that helps put a post-secondary education in reach for in-need students studying in the STEM fields and business.
Employees Engage
Western Union employees can engage with the Foundation in their local community through volunteering, direct giving to the Foundation, and through gift match. The Foundation also offers a program, WU Gives, where employees are empowered to nominate and select nonprofits in their local region for Western Union Foundation funding.
Chain of Betters
The WU Foundations’s vision of moving money for better sits at the center of the Chain of Betters initiative, empowering people to change lives and shape communities through small gifts that make a big difference.
This initiative is live in over 140 countries and has helped fund various efforts in countries across the globe, from transforming the fortunes of a fishing village in the Philippines to using technology to connect parents in Europe with their son in China.
#GirlsBeRising
The Western Union Foundation teamed up with Women Political Leaders, the global network of female politicians, to encourage more girls to get involved in politics and help shape tomorrow’s world for better. We sponsored 21 young women to attend the WPL Summit in Lithuania, the foremost gathering of female politicians in the world. Check out their inspiring stories: https://youtu.be/PmbSf9vuasw
