Our History
WillScot is North America’s leading space problem solver. Located throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, we provide businesses and organizations a temporary environment to learn, live, recover, work and play. Our product line includes the industry’s largest inventory of mobile office trailers, portable classrooms, modular complexes and panelized modular units ready to work where and when you need them. Our storage containers can house whatever you need safely and securely. We never lose sight of the fact that our products and services must remain current and effective for what you, our customer, needs.

We've been dealing with temporary space needs for quite a while – since 1955 to be exact – when Albert Vaughn (“A.V.”) Williams patented the technology used to build a mobile office. With more than 80-million square feet of assets ready to mobilize, we deliver solutions that run the gamut from a simple construction office trailer to a multi-unit complex – and everything in between.

In one sentence can you describe your current role?

I help companies find the most innovative and effective modular buildings through prospecting, site visits, developing floor plans, building relationships, and creating customer centered solutions.

What is one of your favorite parts about working for WillScot?

There are two things I enjoy working at WS, culture and variety.

Culture: Not only can I open up to my bosses as if I’m with my friends but management does a great job of embracing change and having fun while doing it. They are constantly seeking feedback and ways to improve, and they reward great performance!

Variety: I get to be an important part of the decision making process by helping customers design floor plans, challenge the “status quo” way of thinking through persuasion, develop relationships and inject my personality every step of the way. I truly feel as if I am the CEO of my territory!

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I love to workout, do manly things like wrestle grizzly bears, go shooting, hike/bike, ride horses, travel, cookout and play a little bit of guitar.
Day in the Life
 Josh Dyer graciously let me spend the day shadowing him last week. Josh is an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) at our Orlando branch and supports our busy Ft. Lauderdale & Ft. Myers markets.

Josh arrived at the office around 8AM. First things first, he grabbed a cup of coffee and logged into his computer to review his pipeline, check his email and create tasks for the day.

Next, he jumped into the phone queue. Bob from Pinnacle Contractors, a general contractor based in South Florida was the first call of the day. Bob is currently bidding on a project and wanted to compare prices between a single and doublewide mobile office for a 2-year lease. Josh assessed Bob’ needs and then offered a Ready To Work solution to make sure they can get to work as soon as the unit arrives at the site. He proposed essentials like furniture packages for office and conference space, steps and a ramp for ADA accessibility.

Josh generated the lease order agreement using our CRM system, Salesforce, and sent it electronically to make it easier to sign, then followed up with Bob to review the details. Josh received and made several calls over the next few hours to prospects and existing customers to discuss our wide selection of sizes and floorplans that meet a variety of temporary space needs.

Time for lunch! Today was our lucky day because, Shafale Patel, Inside Sales Manager, provided lunch for the entire team. I also learned about other fun/food-related activities throughout the week, such as “Donuts Friday” and “Wellness Wednesday.” Maybe we should switch those two days to get healthy AFTER eating donuts – something to think about, Shafale!

After lunch, Josh reviewed the “hot leads” assigned from our e-commerce team. Josh followed up with each customer to introduce himself, assess their requirements and introduce them to our WillScot products & services. 

Bob returned the lease and is ready to go, so Josh flips the quote to a work order, which is assigned to our customer success, transportation and branch operations teams for order fulfillment. The team collaborates to confirm delivery details and provide a turnkey solution for our customers so Josh can move on to find more customers!

In total, Josh received and made approximately 50 calls, sent out 15 quotes, and, in return, received 3 orders.

Time to head home for the night, and on to the next deal tomorrow!
