The Center for Eating Disorders Management has been providing specialized outpatient treatment for eating disorders since 1988. We take a unique and cutting edge approach to eating disorders treatment by providing comprehensive medical care as well as psychotherapy, medication management, and nutrition services at the outpatient level. We treat children and adults across the spectrum of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive exercise, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder.

Our clinical services are very comprehensive. The Center’s multidisciplinary outpatient treatment consists of a team of nurse practitioners and psychotherapists. We provide specialized medical, nutritional and psychological assessments and treatment using a holistic approach. Collaboration with the patient’s primary-care provider continues during treatment. Individual case management with the entire team occurs weekly to ensure on-going evaluation.

Mental Health Resources was the first private practice in Memphis to offer Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP). MHR provides evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, drug and alcohol abuse, and dual diagnoses. MHR’s IOP program outcomes have been published in professional journals including the American Psychologist, the Journal of Dual Diagnosis, the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry and the Behavioral Outcomes and Guidelines Sourcebook.

Founded in 1987 by Dr. Edward A. Wise, MHR specializes in providing intensive outpatient treatment with a multidisciplinary team consisting of a psychiatrist and counselor or social worker. These services are conducted for less than three hours per day, up to five days per week. Group therapy is provided to identify relationship problems and promote effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and coping strategies. Based on needs, individual, couples or family counseling and medication management may also be provided.

In-Home Counseling removes cost, time and transportation barriers to receiving professional counseling services by therapy in clients’ homes and accepting most insurance. In-Home Counseling provides individual, couples and family therapy for adolescents, adults and seniors dealing with issues a variety of issues related to mental health, stress, grief and loss and various life challenges.

Our network of Licensed Clinical Social Workers provide mental health counseling and support throughout the Greater Chicago area. Services are covered by most private insurance, Medicare, most Medicare Advantage plans, and some Medicaid managed care plans.
