History
OceanFirst has grown from a small community bank to a regional bank operating throughout New Jersey, metropolitan Philadelphia and metropolitan New York City.  OceanFirst is one of the oldest community-based financial institutions headquartered in New Jersey.

OceanFirst was established in 1902 as the Point Pleasant Building and Loan Association.  In 1996 OceanFirst completed our initial public offering (IPO) creating OceanFirst Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:OCFC). OceanFirst has grown organically and through several whole bank acquisitions.  Our team continues to build relationships with families and businesses in the communities we serve.

At the time of our IPO, OceanFirst became the first bank in the country to establish a foundation in conjunction with the conversion to stock ownership.  OceanFirst Foundation celebrates more than 20 years of awarding grants to nonprofit organizations helping our neighbors in the local communities we serve.  Giving back to the community is an integral part of who we are. The sole mission of OceanFirst Foundation is to provide financial resources to charities that support housing, youth development and education; improving the quality of life, health and wellness, and the Arts. Through the OceanFirst Foundation, millions of dollars have been granted to nonprofits throughout the Bank’s market area.
