Mother-Daughter owned and based in a small rural community, GoMacro’s mission is to spread awareness for a balanced, plant-based lifestyle with products that have positive effects on the world and inspire others to have a healthy body, sharp mind, and bold spirit. Since our founding in 2004, we have grown from selling MacroBars in local food co-ops, to making plant-based nutrition bars accessible nationwide in over 30,000 locations. We’ve remained committed to responsible sourcing, high-quality ingredients, and sustainability, including using 100% renewable energy throughout our production process in Viola, Wisconsin.

Our Founders' StoryIn 2003, Amelia Kirchoff was diagnosed with breast cancer. After speaking with her daughter, Jola, Amelia decided to fight the cancer with a plant-based macrobiotic diet in addition to a local lumpectomy. In the face of adversity, Jola and Amelia came together, fought the cancer, and Amelia won. During her battle with cancer, Amelia created the first MacroBar recipe in her kitchen on the Wisconsin family farm. In the years following, Amelia and Jola began spreading the power of a balanced, plant-based lifestyle through GoMacro’s healthy and delicious MacroBars.
