Burgatory is an award winning 7-unit burger joint in Pittsburgh, PA serving unique craft made burgers, shakes and beers. We source only the best ingredients for our scratch kitchens. We strongly believe in taking care of our crew first, giving them the confidence and inspiration to wholeheartedly take care of our guests. Together, we work to be good neighbors and give back to our community. Our common mission is to give our guests such warm and heartfelt hospitality that they feel compelled to share stories of their experience with family and friends.
We the PeopleSince we opened our doors in January 2011 we’ve been a very busy little joint. We built on our experience and got better by working together as a team. Since then we have won just about every “Best Of” award there is to win. We have received countless great reviews locally and won many awards nationally.

We pride ourselves on creating thoughtfully scrumptious plates through our scratch kitchens.
We use all natural meats raised on 100% vegetarian diets and without the use of antibiotics or added growth hormones. Our ranch partners are committed to sustainable environmental practices and the minimal processing of their livestock. We spent a year tasting over a thousand different combinations, before deciding on our custom beef blend of short rib, brisket, chuck and sirloin. Our beef is ground fresh daily, just for us, by a local butcher. It is never frozen and we form each burger by hand for hours every day.
We source our products locally whenever possible because they arrive fresher and it’s better for the environment. We buy from small local purveyors whenever possible because we receive better service and it helps our local economy. We use organic produce whenever possible because it’s grown without harmful insecticides. We use cream from a local dairy to turn our own ice cream in each restaurant every day.
Our sauces and dressings are made from scratch using real ingredients, not processed mixes. Our House-Made Veggie Burgers contain 22 separate (and healthy) ingredients and take hours to prepare.
Our House Cocktails & House-Made Lemonades are made with fresh juices that we squeeze by hand daily.

Our atmosphere is designed to be warm and modern. Using natural materials like repurposed barn wood, stained paneling, stone and steel make our space uniquely casual while also feeling a little refined. Using natural materials in our design is consistent with our approach to the high quality natural ingredients we use in our food and drinks. Our music is lively and a little louder than most places, which adds to the energy. Of course we all have to do our part to keep things neat and clean, while also looking sharp ourselves, to ensure we’re always an inviting place to hang out and relax.
