We care like family
As San Antonio’s second largest private employer, our facilities employ more than 10,000 individuals, including 2,700 physicians in all specialties. In 2014, Methodist Healthcare provided services to 96,000 inpatients and 413,000 outpatients.

We are proud to be part of the South Texas community and have such an exceptional team of healthcare professionals in San Antonio and surrounding region.
Be part of a legacy of success & community service
Methodist Healthcare Ministries is San Antonio's largest non-public funding source for community health care. In addition to providing emergency and critical health services regardless of ability to pay, the system supports 30 community organizations and provides scholarships for students pursuing health care degrees. As the city's second largest private employer, Methodist Healthcare is able to make a significant impact in the community beyond its health care facilities and caregivers.

In addition to earning numerous awards and accreditation, Methodist Healthcare is recognized as an industry leader in many areas of care:

• We provide a full complement of heart services including emergency care, cardiac catheterization, open heart surgery, rehabilitation, long-term heart failure care and heart transplantation.

• Our cancer network is the leading provider of cancer services in South Texas, providing a full scope of cancer care, from diagnosis to treatment including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and blood and marrow stem cell transplants.

• Our kidney, pancreas, liver and heart programs are world renowned for volume, experience and outstanding patient survival outcomes. Our kidney program ranks #1 in the nation for living donor kidney transplants, due in part to the program’s dedication to its paired donor exchange program.

• Our adult and pediatric blood and marrow stem cell programs are among the busiest and largest programs in the nation.

• We were the first hospital system in the nation to receive prestigious accreditation status by the Diversity Health Care Institute of Mexico. The accreditation recognizes the efforts of Methodist Healthcare to make health care accessible to Spanish-speaking and international patients by removing both language and cultural barriers.
