In Hawaiian, Kokua means to come together to fulfill a need. For us, that means building a growing community of dedicated substitute teachers who want to make a difference in students’ lives.
Today, students on average spend an entire school year with substitute teachers by the time they graduate. We look for substitute teachers who can create positive learning environments and support their students to succeed.

Kokua Education, formerly The Charter Substitute Teacher Network (CSTN), was founded in 2011 by a former teacher. Started in Chicago, this network of substitute teachers has grown to over 2500 passionate guest teachers serving many of the highest performing public, charter, and private schools across the country.
