Smyth Automotive

Smyth Auto Parts is a privately held automotive aftermarket company, owned and operated by the Smyth family since it was founded by George Smyth 55 years ago. In 1963, George opened his own used car business, and the need for parts led him to open his very own salvage yard. Smyth Auto Parts began by selling used parts from his salvage yard, and by 1965 was selling new parts over the counter.


In 1983, George turned his business over to his children. Since then, Smyth Auto Parts has grown and expanded into 26 locations including 16 retail stores, 10 warehouse distributors, and 6 PPG Paint Centers throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.

Today this family-owned operation has over 430 employees, 250 vehicles, and more than 500,000 square feet of warehouse inventory space (and growing) filled with over one million parts including OE, performance, and accessory parts. Smyth also carries a complete line of tools and equipment for the “do it yourself” and professional installers.

In February 2000 Smyth Auto Parts became a proud member of Parts Plus, the Automotive Distribution Network’s most prestigious buying group. Smyth Auto Parts has since been building the Smyth name with personalized service, extensive inventory, and attractive, clean store locations.

Smyth Auto Parts has a number of dedicated hard-working employees who have been with them a long time- some longer than 30 years! In addition to their lineup of knowledgeable employees, Smyth also has a full roster of second and third-generation family members actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business— all working together to continue the legacy started over 55 years ago by founder, George Smyth Sr.
