About Endeavors
Endeavors® began in 1969 as an effort to serve San Antonio’s inner-city communities. In 1969, several of San Antonio’s inner-city churches saw a huge gap between the pressing needs of their local community and the services being provided. They took action. In a collaborative effort with the community, these churches launched “Urban Ministries,” a program that would eventually expand in scope, reach, and geography, to become Endeavors®, a national, innovative nonprofit that serves as a model within an evolving behavioral health and social service landscape.

Today, Endeavors® provides a wide array of programs and services supporting children, families, Veterans and those struggling with mental illness and other significant disabilities. It is our hope that, by partnering with area agencies and organizations, we can meet the full range of needs within the local community.
PTSD & Anxiety are not the End of the Story: How One Veteran Got Back On His Feet | Endeavors
Marine Veteran Javier struggled with his transition to civilian life after military life. Struggling with alcoholism and PTSD, Javier finally got back on his feet through supported employment, proving that hope is possible for Veterans struggling with mental health.

Endeavors® provides homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing services to veterans at risk of becoming homeless. Through case management services, veterans develop a housing stability plan, are provided assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits, and are provided referrals to community agencies. Part of our services include providing veterans with temporary financial assistance, which is based on financial need and includes rental deposits, arrears, and utility payments.
Passionately Serving Vulnerable People in Crisis | Endeavors
Endeavors® is a San Antonio nonprofit that connects vulnerable populations to a wide range of helpful services. Assisting over 16,000 clients each year, our work centers around homelessness, unemployment, child abuse, disabilities, and disasters by connecting individuals and families to services like education, crisis intervention, case management, homeless prevention services, parent training, practical life skills, and vocational support, training, and employment.
