Our History
Comprehensive. Close to home. Committed to our community.

Three reasons why ProHealth Care is a trusted source residents have depended on for generations. As the only community-based health care organization in the area, ProHealth Care is also the largest health care provider between Milwaukee and Madison. We treat more than 400,000 patients per year in our medical centers, clinics and hospitals.

ProHealth Care's history dates back to 1914 with the opening of a single hospital in the city of Waukesha. In 1998, Waukesha Hospital System and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital joined together to form ProHealth Care.

Today, we're an organization with 12 primary care clinics, three hospitals, UW Cancer Center at ProHealth Care, home health care, inpatient and hospice services, long-term care, senior residency communities, a health and fitness center, and more. We continually develop and add services to keep pace with community need and demand. These all-encompassing services provide a seamless continuum of care for patients of all ages.

ProHealth Care also offers a network of over 200 physicians and 4,700 employees, making us one of the largest employers in Waukesha County.
