About FMRS Health Systems, Inc
FMRS Health Systems, Inc. was originally organized as a comprehensive mental health center on April 14, 1969. Initially known as FMRS Mental Health Council, the center changed its name in 2001 to more appropriately capture the broad array of services provided in the four counties where it focuses its service delivery. FMRS has offices in Raleigh County, Fayette County, Summers County and Monroe County. Specialized programs are offered to meet the needs of children and adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental or substance abuse problems. Our goal is to assist people in identifying and addressing problems early in an effort to prevent more serious difficulties from occurring. Over the years, the manner in which the services are provided has changed to mirror advances in the field, but the mission remains the same.

We welcomed a new CEO, Randall R. Venable in July of 2021. During the last 18 months, this pandemic has brought many challenges for everyone. We are optimistic that under his leadership we will press through as a team and come through the other side for our consumers, our community and each other.

Our Mission is to serve individuals, families, and communities through prevention, treatment and recovery services, ensuring that help today leads to a better tomorrow.

FMRS Health Systems fulfills our mission by partnering with individuals in their journeys to find mental and physical wellness.

Meet our staff - Michael Griggs, MA, ADC
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work at FMRS? Michael Griggs shares why he chooses to be a part of our team!

"As a therapist at FMRS, I find appreciation in the factors that make it a hospitable and motivating atmosphere. Across several disciplines, FMRS provides a comprehensive environment in treating the client as a whole. In this way, a clinician can feel confident that the client is receiving the best services possible. Trainings are frequent and based on research evidenced findings. Employees are given the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills. Furthermore, respect and dignity of clients and staff alike are highly valued at FMRS. All these factors provide a rewarding environment in which the clinician can feel like part of a greater whole-- whose mission is to make a difference in our community."
Blessing Box
Check out our blessing box located by the parking area of the main agency in Beckley! We want to especially thank Wendy Young and Farris Keaton for their beautiful artwork which has brought our box to life! FMRS staff regularly stock the box with donations of non perishable foods and toiletry items. There are many FMRS clients and community members that benefit from the items in the blessing box. If you would like to donate please contact Farris at 304-256-7100.
Celebrate Recovery
We celebrated Recovery Month at Turning Pointe today! One of our Peer Recovery Specialists came to share her recovery story. It was a great day so we wanted to share a few pictures with you all. Our residents tie dyed most of the shirts for our staff in the picture below. We think they did an exceptional job! We did purple & teal for the colors that represent Recovery Month ?
We were happy to show that Recovery Is For Everyone!!
FMRS LEAD Program
Want to thank Captain Shawn Campbell of the Fayette County Sheriffs office for his support of the FMRS LEAD PROGRAM . Captain Campbell took the opportunity to not only make a referral to the program, but came out to show his support to our participant before they began their treatment journey. There is a reason that Fayette County has been asked to mentor other counties that are starting the LEAD PROGRAM, and that reason is the buy in and support we are getting from these guys. What a GREAT way to spend a Friday afternoon....
