About Corolla Beach Rescue
Our MISSION is ensuring the safest beach & aquatic environment possible through close public observation, education and interaction.
Thank you for your interest in Corolla Beach Rescue (CBR). Corolla is part of the barrier islands of the northern Outer Banks, in between the Currituck Sound to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The area is surrounded by wildlife, historical sites, and is known to have some of the nicest beaches on the east coast.
Our response area covers approximately 23 miles of oceanfront beach, and 100 square miles of the Currituck Sound. At the peak season, we operate 17 stationary lifeguard towers and 10 roving patrols, and welcome approximately 1 million beach goers each season.
