The pleasure of your presence is big business to the Taylor Corporation. The holding company operates more than 80 subsidiaries devoted to print services (such as invitations) and marketing solutions. One of its largest businesses is Carlson Craft, a printer of invitations and related materials for weddings and other special events. Other Taylor units provide greeting cards and stationary (Current USA), marketing communications products, and promotional items. Taylor does business throughout North America and in Europe. Founder Glen Taylor, majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, assembled the family-owned company from acquisitions, starting with Carlson Wedding Service in 1975.

Taylor Corporation targets customers in core markets such as Fortune 1000 companies, office supply retailers, and consumer retailers. The company offers services designed to build its clients' brands, save money, and creates value. Examples of such offerings include graphics solutions, direct mail design and fulfillment, and Web-based ordering tools.

Mergers and Acquistions

The company acquired Venture Encoding in 2012. Venture provides customer communications services -- including loan servicing, borrower communications and marketing solutions -- in compliance-driven markets such as financial services. Taylor is using the deal to expand its Corporate Graphics Direct Marketing Solutions, an affiliate based in Minnesota; it is merging the two businesses to form a new company called Venture Solutions.
