OUR HISTORY
When you need someone you can count on, you always turn to family.
George J. Nice gained his wealth of experience in the industry by working with his brothers in the aptly named business, Nice Brothers, Inc. The company was prominently known around the Virginia Peninsula area in the 60’s and 70’s for their work in site development and construction.
In 1985, George Nice & Sons was incorporated, and over the ensuing years, each of George’s four sons, Robert, Jerry, Ray and Michael, joined the business, each providing additional dimension to the business. What began as the installation and maintenance of septic systems has grown into a multifaceted construction business with over 100 years of combined experience in construction & field management, civil/construction estimating & engineering, GPS and machine control management, construction fleet management and unparalleled quality control.
Today, there are three generations of family members working for the company, with George J. Nice still leading as president. Over the years the Nice Family is proud that our reputation for quality and integrity have held true, and that the expansion of the business has resulted from the dedication and craftsmanship found in every project—large or small—completed along the way.
Keeping the business in the family is one way to ensure that every project will receive the level of quality and commitment each deserves. Keeping our customers happy is another.
