Bowland View Headquarters Preston PR2 5QTJames Hall & Co. Ltd moved to it's current home at Bowland View in February 2011 after it out grew the former site on Blackpool Road. Bowland View is an impressive 40 acre site to the East of Preston, boasting modern work offices in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The site has become an efficient, multifunctional distribution depot with excellent working conditions.
The site incorporates a food manufacturing facility, large offices home to support services for the entire business and a food distribution warehouse which is currently being extended covering 35,000 sq metres across three temperature zones - ambient, fresh and frozen. The building itself has been designed to be energy efficient using reclaimed heat and is also self-sufficient in its ability to generate electricity.
Prior to the construction of the warehouse, the site was open farmland. The surrounding countryside is home to much wildlife including deer, many species of bird and the endangered great crested newt. Great care continues to be taken to ensure that the site is in harmony with its surroundings and where possible the natural habitat of the wildlife has been preserved.
On visiting the site it would be difficult not be be 'wowed' by the building and indeed it's surroundings; including the large pond at the front of the building and several water features leading into the impressive reception area and meeting rooms.
Once inside the building you will find mostly open plan style offices with glass windowed modern offices. The staff canteen is a welcome throw back feature, it offers good food at cost price as well as a friendly open atmosphere for staff. There are also wooden benches outside for days when the sun shines and a walking track (approx 1 mile) around the perimeter of the building for those who want a more strenuous dinner time activity.
