About Bay Aging
Bay Aging was founded in 1978 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and has grown to be the premier provider of programs and services people of all ages need to live independently in their communities for as long as possible. Bay Aging provides an extremely diverse menu of services through three major divisions: Bay Health, Bay Housing, and Bay Transit. With our main service area covering approximately 2,600 square miles in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, plus our ever expanding statewide and multi-state programs, there are plenty of opportunities to not only impact the community but also for growth within our organization!

MISSION & VISION

Primary Mission: Bay Aging will deliver the programs and services people of all ages need to live independently in their communities for as long as possible.

Secondary Mission: Bay Aging is committed to the community development of our region to promote the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula as a great place to live, work and visit.

Vision: Every neighbor in our region will have a CHOICE and range of services that will assist them to remain independent in their chosen home.
Independent Community Living
Bay Aging has a dedicated team of Options Counselors, Health Coaches, and Care Coordinators to help seniors, people with disabilities, and other high health-risk individuals navigate all of Bay Aging's many services and take control of their own health! This team has a direct impact on the quality of life for the clients they serve, ensuring everyone is receiving the exact services they need such as proper nutrition through Meals on Wheels, transportation to doctor's appoints, personal care assistance, companion/homemaker services, or an array of other services.
One program even targets high-utilizers of emergency care services, and using an evidence based hospital to home model helps drastically reduce re-admissions to the ER. Health Coaches teach clients how to manager their own health by reviewing medications and discharge paperwork and teach other skills to help individuals remain out of the hospital and living independently within the community.
Meals on Wheels
Each year, Bay Aging staff and volunteers organize and deliver approximately 167,000 nutritious meals to seniors within our community! Meals on Wheel is an essential part of supporting these seniors' independence, allowing those who are unable to shop or cook for themselves to remain in their own homes for as long as they choose. Each Meals on Wheels client is also provided a non-medical wellness check and companionship visit from one of our friendly volunteers!
If serving the elderly in your community is a passion of yours, Bay Aging is the perfect employer!
Bay Transit
Did you know? Bay Transit, a division of Bay Aging, is the only provider of public transportation in the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck, New Kent, and Charles City. Bay Transit provides curb-to-curb service for all ages for all reasons! Other services include around town circulars, trolley rides, specialized rides for seniors/people with disabilities, and special trips.
If you love meeting new people or enjoy the exciting field of transportation, a career with our Bay Transit division could be in your future!
