The most effective and efficient way to deliver excellent orthopedic and neuroscience services is to bring them together under one roof, putting the patient at the center, offering patients the most comprehensive, integrated care. Furthermore, highly skilled surgeons and specialists have the best opportunity to collaborate on treatment. By bringing these services together in one location, we are able to offer the depth and breadth of world-class care in one place where patients can easily and readily access it.
To make this new and unique model of care a reality in the community, ThedaCare and Neuroscience Group, are coming together under a common vision to form an Orthopedic, Spine, and Pain Center on the ThedaCare Health Campus – Encircle. This is much more than a partnership; it is the region’s only comprehensive health center specializing in orthopedics, spine, and pain care, with both inpatient and outpatient services. It is a true integration of service with highly specialized providers who are experts in their fields.

Highlights of Career Pathing At Thedacare.....
"Nursing colleagues,
I am honored to be the one to share this exciting news for our nursing team, on this Certified Nurses Day, March 19, 2021. Our ThedaCare Foundation has once again announced support for nursing education, advancing the development and expertise of our team.
“The ThedaCare Foundation is privileged to be a partner in celebrating Certified Nurses Day,” said Courtney Weiland, vice president of Philanthropy. “Our donors have a decades-long history of contributing to support the development of caregivers. This generosity was never more prevalent than in the past year as our communities stepped up to recognize all of you as caregivers in the face of global pandemic. On behalf of our donors, it is an honor to contribute $25,000 to help advance certification for our amazing ThedaCare nursing team members.”
History of Certified Nurses Day
Certified Nurses Day, created in 2008 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in partnership with the American Nurses Association (ANN), acknowledges the milestone of certification for the dedication it represents in professionalism and critical understanding of specialty areas.
March 19 was chosen because it was the birthdate of Dr. Margretta “Gretta” Madden Styles, RN, EdD, FAAN, a pioneer in the area of nursing certification. Dr. Styles began pushing for stricter standards of credentialing to validate expertise in the 1970s. Later, she was instrumental in the foundation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Certified nurses are considered clinical experts who have demonstrated a level of knowledge validated by the credentialing boards. They have committed themselves to life-long learning as they are expected to engage in continuous educational opportunities, maintaining a level of up-to-date knowledge in their area(s) of expertise.
Studies show nurses with certifications provide a higher level of patient satisfaction and patient-centered care, as well as professional satisfaction, as nurses often state their certifications were important indicators of their level of competence and enhanced their professional credibility. Many nurses also overwhelmingly agreed that obtaining specialty certifications was personally gratifying and built their professional confidence.
Nursing Education at ThedaCare
As a representative of nursing, I also have a responsibility and want to role model this expectation. I obtained my NEA-BC to enhance my knowledge of nurse leadership and to serve as an example to the profession I represent.
We will continue to outline the details of the submission and reimbursement process and will plan on a formal roll-out early June.
I am grateful for having our ThedaCare Foundation provide us this opportunity. This initiative is so appreciated and will serve as a way to rejuvenate and invest in ourselves after this challenging year. The timing could not be better!
Warmest regards,
Jackie Anhalt

ThedaCare's Proud Past and Promising FutureTheda Clark Peters dreamed of a better life for the people of her community. Before her sudden passing in 1903, just three days after giving birth to her only child, she made sure her hometown of Neenah would have a hospital to care for the sick and improve the health of all people. On October 18, 1909, the sixth birthday of Theda’s daughter, ThedaCare opened its first doors.
