Coastal Harbor Treatment Center youth treatment facilities serve children and adolescents, ages 4 to 17, with short-term or long-term inpatient care to cope with crisis situations or ongoing behavioral, mental or emotional difficulties. For some, growing up can be a challenge, and when it becomes unmanageable, the experts at Coastal Harbor Treatment Center are here to help. We also provide therapeutic foster care placement for children in need of short-term care from a loving family.

As a Joint Commission-Accredited behavioral health facility, our outpatient and inpatient health facilities in Georgia delivers exceptional, affordable education and treatment in a safe and secure 114-bed facility that is privately owned and operated.

Mental Health Treatment Overview
Referring a young person to an inpatient facility is not a decision than should be made lightly. However, if the time comes when hospitalization appears to be necessary, Coastal Harbor Health’s team of behavioral health specialists will determine the best course of mental health treatment. Led by our Board Certified child psychiatrist, our multi-disciplinary team of nurses, therapists, teachers, and case managers will work together to create a treatment plan specific to each child’s particular needs.

Children and adolescents alike suffer mental illnesses such as severe depression, anxiety disorders, or other psychiatric problems. Some have multiple issues to be dealt with, including substance abuse rehabilitation, ADD/ADHD, and developmental disabilities. Both of our inpatients programs are nurturing, but highly structured environments where these kids can develop a sense of self worth, a tool kit of coping skills, take part in mental health counseling programs, and the ability to take responsibility for their behaviors in spite of their difficulties.

Therapeutic components may include:
