About Serenity Lane
Stories, education, resources and inspiration for those interested in recovery from drugs and alcohol. Serenity Lane has been helping individuals recover from drug and alcohol addiction since 1973. Our residential campus is located in Coburg, Oregon and we provide intensive outpatient services throughout Oregon and Washington with clinics in Albany, Eugene, Portland (2 locations), Bend, Salem, Roseburg and Vancouver, WA.
Serenity Lane's History
Serenity Lane was established as a private, non-profit treatment center for alcoholism and drug abuse in 1973 by Dr. Thomas A. Kerns. Sam Graves of Heartview Foundation, Mandan, North Dakota, was recruited to direct the Serenity Lane program. Serenity Lane has been licensed as a specialty hospital treating addiction since 1973 and all programs are accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). We are the only treatment center in Oregon that is fully licensed as a specialty hospital to do medical withdrawal support. We have a professional medical staff and 24-hour nursing care.

Serenity Lane has pioneered many new programs over the years, including outpatient and residential step-down programs that combine residential and outpatient services. Serenity Lane has outpatient programs in many locations throughout Oregon. Serenity Lane’s quality treatment of patients and their families is legendary.

Serenity Lane has had the only Addiction Counselor Training Program in the State of Oregon and we have graduates working in many treatment programs throughout the United States. Many of our counselors and physicians have been recognized for national honors. Our rigid adherence to qualifications and the longevity of our staff make Serenity Lane one of the premier treatment centers for alcohol and other drug problems. These attributes, combined with comparatively modest pricing, make Serenity Lane a desirable program for many patients and their families.
