About Open Sky Community Services
What we believe:
At Open Sky, we are dedicated to the belief that every individual, no matter what challenges or life experience they have, deserves the chance to live a productive and meaningful life. With that goal in mind, we put innovative, evidence-based practices – delivered by highly-trained and compassionate staff – to work in residential programs and community settings across Central Massachusetts every day.
We support individuals and families to achieve their own definition of wellness, develop meaningful relationships, have access to opportunities of their choosing and be valued members of society. We know that with the right skills, services and supports, every person we serve can see beyond their perceived limitations to live beyond their own expectations. Open Sky was built on a foundation of strong community relationships and all of our efforts are informed by our commitment to the values of inclusion, opportunity, diversity, racial equity and justice for ALL people in our community.
What we do:
With over 100 programs throughout Central Massachusetts, each year Open Sky provides services and supports to more than 5,000 adults, young adults and youth with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, brain injury, substance use disorders or other complex challenges. We also provide services and supports for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 14 to 23 through our Safe Homes program. The Bridge Training Institute at Open Sky offers expert training for human service professionals, social workers, psychologists and school personnel on evidence-based practices and best practice treatment models.
Our history:
Open Sky Community Services, headquartered in Worcester, Massachusetts, was built through the affiliation of two of Central Massachusetts’ premier human service organizations: Alternatives Unlimited, Inc. and The Bridge of Central Massachusetts. While our name and agency is new, our collective histories are long and strong. Together we have decades of shared experience in program development, and are widely respected for our innovative services. Our Executive Leadership Team, Board, and professional staff bring an unparalleled depth and breadth of organizational expertise, community leadership and service excellence to the agency.
We look forward to an equally long and successful history as Open Sky. But along the way, we will continue to honor the history that Alternatives and The Bridge brought to this new and exciting venture
