Workday Life
As a company, we seek market opportunity and impact. Your job is to bring your talent, passion, and authentic self to work. We’ll take care of the rest. As a Workmate, feel empowered knowing that we’re invested in your unique skills and development.

"Our culture empowers our employees to achieve their organizational objectives, give their personal best, and work together as a team—ultimately defining who we are as a company and the customer experience we provide." - Aneel Bhusri, co-founder and co-CEO, Workday
Core Values
A Simple Approach to Happy Customers, Employees, and Families

When Dave and Aneel founded Workday, they wanted the company to embody all the good qualities of their past experiences. They also knew that the real measure of success would be the degree to which Workday abided by a set of key core values.

Dave has founded five companies in his career, and the core values he developed over the years were inspired by Jim Collins's book Beyond Entrepreneurship: Turning Your Business Into an Enduring Great Company. Our core values give us a framework for leadership and daily decisions, and help us enjoy our time at work. Sounds so simple, but too often companies get caught up in politics, ivory-tower attitudes, and market mania instead of focusing on the things that probably made them successful in the first place.

The following Workday core values and beliefs define what's important to Workday:

Employees
Most fundamentally, people are the core of our business. Without them, we would have no business.

Customer Service
Every investment and decision we make has our customers in mind, and we pull out all stops to put the needs and issues of our customers first.

Innovation
We aim for innovation not only in our Development organization, but also in the way we approach all aspects of our business.

Integrity
We say what we mean, and mean what we say. We stick to our commitments, treat everyone equitably, and communicate openly and honestly.

Fun
We work hard and play hard, investing in community and company events that help our employees and their families feel a connection to Workday beyond business as usual.

Profitability
Profitability is what enables us to give our employees and customers the best productivity tools, solutions, and services, so it's hugely important to us.
Social Responsibility
We’re making better use of our own resources—such as making our cloud computing services 100% carbon neutral and investing in economic opportunity for all. By protecting the planet and the people who call it home, we’re finding new ways to unleash human potential.

Sustainability.
Workday’s Sustainability program supports our commitment to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. Workday is powered by 100% renewable energy and achieved net-zero carbon emissions in 2020.

Workday Foundation.
The Workday Foundation partners with organizations that provide underserved job seekers with the technical skills and opportunities they need to secure well-paid, lasting employment in the tech sector. From funding things like coding camps for girls to technical training for veterans, our impact grants are our primary tool for making a difference and transforming lives.

In tandem with the Workday Foundation, Opportunity Onramps™, our workforce development movement, provides paid training, internships, and job opportunities to candidates from non-traditional backgrounds.

Giving & Doing.
Workday employees around the world run, walk, mentor, advise, feed, read, develop technology, serve on boards, and even grow mustaches for meaningful causes. Our Giving & Doing program matches employees’ charitable donations to qualified organizations of up to USD 1,000 per year. Employees are also encouraged to volunteer in groups of five or more and receive a grant for up to USD 5,000 for their charity partner.
Diversity & Inclusion
Our approach to diversity is simple—it’s about embracing everyone.

We're committed to building a more equitable world, starting within our own organization. We hire and develop a diverse workforce, cultivate our employee-first culture, shape corporate policies, and invest in underrepresented communities around the world. Because the more diverse and inclusive our teams are, the more we can succeed and thrive in an ever-changing world.

We’ve signed the:
- White House Equal Pay Pledge.
- Business Statement for Transgender Equality.
- CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge.

Employee Belonging Councils.
We believe that belonging happens when communities connect. Through Workday Employee Belonging Councils (EBCs), employees build knowledge, create safe spaces, foster innovation, enable business initiatives, and engage in community outreach. Workday’s EBCs include:

- Black @ Workday
- Dosti (South Asians)
- East Asians @ Workday
- Families @ Workday
- KAMPI (Filipino and Pacific Islander)
- Latinx
- Pride
- Women @ Workday
- Workday for People with Disabilities
- Veterans

We have 34 EBC chapters around the world with several thousand employees involved.

Career Accelerator Program.
Workday’s Career Accelerator Program (CAP) is a four-month paid program for veterans to receive the training needed to launch a successful career in technology, with the potential to convert to full-time employees at Workday. We’re proud to say that 80 percent of our CAP alumni hold permanent Workday roles, spanning across functions from software engineering to quality assurance and more.
Workday Flex Work
Flexibility that works with you. Flex work gives Workmates the benefits of spending time together in person and the flexibility to work from elsewhere. This new model keeps our culture intact and our community strong, and helps our team perform at their best.
